Kristine Maki WHNP
Kristine Maki WHNP (Woman’s Health Nurse Practitioner) has been seeing women exclusively since 1999. She received her RN degree in 1988 from Methodist Hospital in Lubbock Texas and was a labor and delivery nurse until she broadened her scope of practice to seeing women with peri and post-menopausal issues. She received her Woman’s Health Nurse Practitioner certification from Ball State University and Indiana Health in 1999.
She is an advocate of bio-identical treatment. Bio-identical hormone therapy (BHRT) means replacing the bodies naturally made hormones that have declined through the years with the exact identical hormones (made from yams and soy). Research has shown that replacement hormones from these sources are safe and essential for healthy living and slow the aging process.
So how does someone recognize their personal need for BHRT?
- Do you have hot flashes?
- Loss of Libido?
- Weight gain?
- Or other symptoms?
If so, you may be an ideal candidate for BHRT!
The process starts with ordering a wide array of laboratory tests (usually covered by insurance) and then seeing Kristine for a comprehensive history and physical. Kristine takes time to listen and understand each patient’s needs. She will work with you to help find the best possible solutions so you can once again appreciate living to the fullest.
